Isotope Technologies staff members participated in an awareness seminar in the safeguarding
of radioactive materials [and] in a training session on the physical protection and safeguarding
of radioactive sources. These activities took place on June 21–24 and were organized by the
United States Department of Energy and the Belarus Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES)
for specialists at organizations that work with radioactive materials, as well as oversight
agency specialists. During the seminar and training session, American specialists touched
upon a wide range of issues related to improving security in the handling of radioactive
sources, and a hands-on session was conducted at the MES Scientific-Research Institute
of Fire Safety and Emergency Problems in Borisov.

Second international seminar
“Present-day Methods of Diagnostics and Therapy in Nuclear Medicine”
was held in Minsk on April 17, 2004. Radioisotope Center «POLATOM»
and our company organized this seminar. More than 50 participants
from Ministry of Health Republic of Belarus, Belarus Onñological
Centers, nuclear medicine specialists from Russia, Poland, Lithuania
and Ukraine took part in this seminar.

developed the AGAT-METROLOGY radiation device by the request of the
IAEA and Belarus State Metrology Committee. The AGAT-METROLOGY radiation
device is developed for calibration of dosimeters as well as irradiating
different objects by the collimated beams of gamma radiation.

International seminar "Nuclear Medicine - a Challenge to the 21st Century" took
place in Minsk on January 18th 2003. This workshop was dedicated
to one of the most important branches of nuclear medicine - application
of radiopharmatheuticals in therapy and diagnostics. More than 50
participants took part in this seminar, among them representatives
of Ministry of Health Republic of Belarus, Institute of Oncology
and Medical Radiology, Minsk Oncology Hospital, Oncology Hospitals
from Mogilev, Grodno, Brest, Gomel and Vitebsk, nuclear medicine
specialists from Poland, Hungary, Ukraine. The seminar was organized
by Radioisotope Center POLATOM (Poland) and "Isotope Technologies" (Minsk).
Conference Hall was kindly represented by Minsk Ontological Hospital.

New opportunities in nuclear medicine in Belarus! We are offering the radiopharmatheuticals
produced in Poland and Russia and applied in medical diagnostics
and therapy. Today (November 20, 2001) "Isotope Technologies" can
offer such radiopharmatheuticals as Strontium chloride 89SrCl2 for
injection, Sodium ortophosphate - 32P for injection, 131I
- Sodium iodide, radionuclide Generator 99Mo/99mTc.
Mentioned above preparation are used in treatment and diagnostics
of cancer of thyroid, thyrotoxicosis, polycythemia, bone metastases
from breast and prostate, scintigraphic study of bone, liver, brain
and thyroid.

October 24-26 2001, the International Scientific Conference "Nuclear Technologies
of the XXI Century: Criteria of the Existence and Decision" was held
in Minsk (Belarus). The "Isotope technologies" in cooperation with
the Institute of the Power Engineering Problems (Belarus) and the
Research Institute of Atomic Reactors (Russia) made the report "First
Results of the Team-Works and the Perspectives of Creation of New
Isotope Technologies in Industry and Medicines". Also, our company
took part in exhibition that was organized jointly with this conference.
