Isotope Technologies staff members participated in an awareness Seminar in the safeguarding of radioactive materials and in a Training session on the physical protection and safeguarding of radioactive sources.
These activities took place on June 21–24, 2011 and were organized by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) and the Belarus Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) for specialists at organizations that work with radioactive materials, as well as oversight agency specialists.
During the Seminar and Training session, American specialists touched upon a wide range of issues related to improving security in the handling of radioactive sources, and a hands-on session was conducted at the MES Scientific-Research Institute of Fire Safety and Emergency Problems in Borisov.
